Master of African Nouveau · Working in clay, fire, and memory
For over three decades, Woodrow Nash has worked to give form to stories the world nearly forgot, sculpting figures that carry the weight of lineage and the grace of memory.
Meet Asha — “Life” Signed Poster by Woodrow Nash 1 of 100. Wrapped in the cool indigo of deep water and the warm clay of fired earth, Asha is a study in stillness. Her face, half-painted in cobalt and cream, speaks of two worlds joined at the breath. Love does not possess, nor will it be possessed. It is enough that love is sufficient unto love.
Bomani — “Warrior” Signed Poster by Woodrow Nash 1 of 100. Marked by the cream and crimson chevrons of a face that has seen the line drawn, Bomani is the keeper of what comes next. You are the bow from which your children are sent forth as living arrows. Bend with gladness, for the archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite.

Limited Edition Nomsa Signed Poster by Woodrow Nash 1 of 100.”Mother” Balancing the vessel of memory upon her head, Nomsa is the keeper of what cannot be lost. The same well that holds your laughter was carved by your tears. The deeper sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
Tebago — “Joy” Signed Poster by Woodrow Nash 1 of 100. Bald, bearded, and silent beneath the watchful gaze of his ancestor, Tebago is the contemplation that comes after the battle. Your soul is often a battlefield upon which your reason and your judgment wage war against your passion and your appetite. Walk the field as one who knows the ground is sacred.
A legacy shaped by hand.
Woodrow Nash brings more than thirty years of practice to each figure he forms. His work moves between clay, paint, and fire, drawing from the visual language of the African diaspora and the quiet authority of craft.
Collected internationally and exhibited across the United States and abroad, Nash’s sculptures are held in private collections, institutional galleries, and historic landmarks including Whitney Plantation. Each piece is handworked in his Akron studio, carrying the marks of the hand that shaped it.
Where the work lives.
In the words of collectors.
I love his artwork. Met him during Essence Festival and seen the work up close. I purchased the cards as gifts and ended up keeping them to frame, they anchor a gallery wall in my home and I consistently receive compliments from every visitor.

My husband and I had the absolute honor of attending a private gathering with Woodrow. His words were powerful, grounding, and filled with so much heart. An unforgettable experience with one of the most gifted living artists today.

I bought the mother and child piece years ago, it has continued to bring me joy, and my guests always rave about its beauty. Thanks for sharing your gifts and for being a shining example of African American excellence.
