Scratch and Ding Online Auction

These are original Woodrow Nash sculptures, each accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The Scratch and Ding Auction is held annually—sometimes biannually—to responsibly liquidate inventory. This auction was born during the COVID-19 pandemic and continues as a rare opportunity to acquire authentic work at reduced pricing due to minor imperfections.

Auction Formats

Sealed Bid Auction

In this format, bids are private. A reserve price will be provided for each piece. Submit your highest and best offer. At the close of the auction (typically 10 days), Woodrow Nash Studios will notify the winning bidder. Payment must be completed within 48 business hours.

Ascending Bid Auction

This is a traditional live-bid format where current bids are visible. To ensure fairness, any bid placed within the final two minutes extends the auction by an additional two minutes. This continues until no bids are placed within the final window. The highest bidder at close is the winner.

General Rules (Applies to All Formats)
  • Participation Fee A one-time, non-refundable $1 participation fee is required to enter the Scratch and Ding Auction.
  • Payment Deadline Winning bidders must complete payment within 48 business hours. Failure to do so forfeits the win, and the next highest bidder may be offered the piece.
  • Bidder Enforcement Woodrow Nash Studios reserves the right to ban bidders who forfeit payment from all future auctions.
  • Non-Payment Penalty At our discretion, we reserve the right to charge $500 or the winning bid amount (whichever is lower) if a bidder fails to honor their winning bid. Do not bid unless you are prepared to purchase.
  • Age Requirement All participants must be 18 years or older.
  • Shipping & Handling After payment, pieces are professionally packed. A separate freight quote will be provided. Shipping begins once freight is paid. Please allow 4–6 weeks for delivery.
Condition, Returns & Exchanges
  • Scratch and Ding Disclaimer These pieces may contain minor imperfections, surface wear, or small structural flaws consistent with the nature of this auction. All pieces are sold as-is.
  • No Refunds. Ever. All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for any reason, including damage discovered after delivery.
  • Exchange Only (Like-for-Like) In the rare event of damage during transit or structural failure (e.g., a broken loc), the buyer may request an exchange for a comparable piece of similar size, style, and value, subject to availability.

  • Art Is Handmade. Variation Is Not a Defect. Each sculpture is unique. Variations are part of the work, not a flaw.
